Safe Salvation!

Safe salvation!

I want to state from the onset of this Blog that what you are about to read is written with a heavy heart of love. I have sat on something at least a year now and I believe what I was shown last year relates to what we are growing through right now. So, if you are offended by what you will read check your heart to see if God is offending you. One of His names is Rock of Offense, skandalon!

One thing this manufactured pandemic – I believe with all of my heart it is manufactured – is proving is contemporary church services are irrelevant, meaning they are not necessary for the saints to survive and thrive! By contemporary, I mean the modern service regardless if it is denominational or not.

This Blog is a righteous rant at those Christian leaders who did not fast and pray and get a direct word from God to close their services to their people or the public and to send them home without giving them the opportunity to seek God for themselves about what He wanted them to do.

If you as a leader heard God say stop your public services then I have no issue with you, unless you did not reveal that in your public announcement about suspending your services.

I never thought I would see the day where Christian leaders would practice safe salvation!

You have heard of safe sex, where you use protection to keep yourself from contracting an STD or producing a pregnancy.

Planned Parenthood, that virtuous standard-bearer of all family planning [harumph], advertises on its website 15% of vaginal sexual activity between a male and female will result in pregnancy – while using a condom.

FIFTEEN PERCENT, or 15 out of 100! That means, if that statistic is accurate, one male could impregnate 15 women out of every 100 he has vaginal intercourse with. If that is too graphic then 15 separate men would probably impregnate 15 women out of the 100 men having vaginal sex with a woman.

We have closed down our society, and church services, over a concern that a low percentage of people will be infected with CV19, and possibly die! The percent of those who die are relatively low.

So far, it is far below what the annual flu season produces, and way below what WHO said would happen. WHO said what!

Well, now, we are witnessing [pun intended] the practice of safe salvation where the people [those claiming to be Christ-filled, Christ-led, and Christ-empowered people] claiming to have the solution [anointing of the Holy Spirit] for the world’s crises are sequestered in the safe spaces of their homes – until the storm passes.

I mean until Uncle Sam says we can come out and play.

I am calling this safe salvation! You know, resting in your residence while the worship team worships and preachers preach sermons at a safe distance away via their social media and other live stream platforms.

Christian communities are actually proud they are practicing safe salvation by worshiping “together” from the safe confines of their personal property [safe places].

Wait! I actually thought the name of the Lord is a strong tower, and the righteous run into it [Him] and are safe. Has that ceased to be a reality?

Instead, they have run into their safe houses fearing the vengeance of the vicious Chinese flu! WOOOOhan that is. Wuhan sounds like WHO said! And now we discover WHO was in bed with the Chinese propaganda machine not letting it be known human to human transmission was happening. Who didn’t see that coming?

Some, who have an aversion to the heavenly law, you know, all the “Don’t do this” and, “Don’t do that” requirements for practical righteousness, immediately surrendered their sovereignty to the government’s decrees of all they could not do.

The government quickly changed the way they marketed how they want us to behave.

Social distancing is a much better sell than stay home instead of worshiping in your sanctuary! And now, as I am writing this word comes information we in Southeast Georgia will receive a Shelter in Place Order shortly from the Governor, like other states have done.

Speaking of those sanctuaries. I guess they are not all that sanctuary after all, except for the leaders, you know. It is one thing for a secular government to tell people to stay home. It is quite the other for spiritual authorities to tell their people to shelter in place and stay safe.

Safe salvation practice is where the leaders stand on their platform, separated from those that may infect them, and transmit God’s seed [Word] through song and sermon, to those ready to receive while resting in their residences.

Remember, PP says 15% will get pregnant. I wonder what % will conceive what is sown in them while they stay in their beds or on their sofas. Well, this will certainly give those who sleep in church a free pass.

Do you understand what they are saying to you, Mr. and Mrs. Sheep?

What they are saying is they feel safe around each other, not you!

Hmm, hmm!

They are communicating that you’re the unsafe portion of their ministry. They are saying you are the unknown part of the equation.

I know they presented it something like this, “Because we really care for you we want you to stay safe at your house while we come to God’s House and release important information to you through the internet.”

The leadership team made up of the media masters, worship and sermonizing teams [many mega pastors have researchers who do the heavy lifting for their sermon material], obviously feel perfectly safe around each other.

You know it is a percentage matter.

If they keep the number under 15 their chance of getting infected is minuscule.

Increasing numbers increases the chances of them getting infected.

Some of the larger churches have as many as 50 people or more involved in their worship and media teams. But they are willing to risk exposure to get you the message of the hour. How courageous of them!

I am VERY concerned about the condition of the Christian community!

I find it intriguing Christian leaders refer to earthly government officials as their “leaders” when speaking about canceling normal services and practicing physical distancing.

“To honor our leaders we are suspending normal services and encourage you to watch us on our various live stream platforms [FB, YT, etc] in the safety of your home. And PLEASE SEND US YOUR TITHE!”

I also wonder who will feel the need to return to the “sanctuary” service once they discover they can walk the beach [when that is restored], or stay in the comfy confines of their home and still “catch” the service. I mean, “Honey, think of the gas and time we will save. And we won’t have to fight with the kids to eat, get dressed so we can get out the door.”

Nowhere, including the Romans 13 text, are Christians instructed to submit to human decrees that contradict divine decrees.

Jesus never bowed to the Jewish or Roman governments, and He died for it. Herod was a political pawn who wanted to see Jesus, and Jesus called him a fox and kept moving.

Pilate said he had the authority to kill or free Jesus and Jesus told him he was not in charge! He also said, “My kingdom is not of this world.” You see, Jesus answered to a Higher Power that is still above the delegated authority in Jerusalem and Rome, and here at home too.

Herod, who accepted the praise of men instead of giving it to God was stricken by an angel, and was eaten by worms before he died!

Now, who is the Boss?

So forgive me for not agreeing with your understanding of Romans 13!

Paul, who wrote Romans 13 never surrendered his stewardship to Rome or Jerusalem.

The only thing that stopped him from moving out into the unreached world of the Roman Empire, was, believe it or not, Satan, and the Holy Spirit. Not even a putrid plague kept him sheltered in place.

This is how Peter and John responded to those who attempted to stop them from ministering in public, or at all.

14 And seeing the man who had been healed standing with them, they had nothing to say in reply. 15 But when they had ordered them to leave the Council, they began to confer with one another, 16 saying, ‘What shall we do with these men? For the fact that a noteworthy miracle has taken place through them is apparent to all who live in Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it. 17 But so that it will not spread any further among the people, let us warn them to speak no longer to any man in this name.’

18 And when they had summoned them, they commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus.

19 But Peter and John answered and said to them, ‘Whether it is right in the sight of God to give heed to you rather than to God, you be the judge; 20 for we cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard.’

21 When they had threatened them further, they let them go [finding no basis on which to punish them] on account of the people, because they were all glorifying God for what had happened.” [Acts 4]

I know what you are thinking. “Kevin, this is not the same thing. What we are dealing with is a health crisis, a pandemic of Biblical proportions. Says WHO! Not Jesus! Remember Jesus, the One who sent the original apostles into the danger zones of disease and death.

We now know WHO grossly inflated the numbers. What we don’t know is why! Although one can make an educated guess and be in the ballpark, at least. Remember WHO, that bastion of trustworthiness WHO failed to inform the world humans were passing CV19 to other humans at the behest of their Chinese masters.

I agree these are two different scenarios, one was epidemic and we have a pandemic.

The ramification to the 1st-century Jewish leaders was just as threatening to their way of life. Remember, this same council was concerned Jesus’ ministry, if not thwarted, would result in the whole Jewish world going after Him.

And Rome! Rome was worried their empire would crumble under the weight of the hoards of heralds who heralded the Good News!

There was a virus spreading throughout the Jewish and Roman worlds. It was – Victory in Jesus! It was – Jesus is Lord, not Caiphas or Caesar!

All the Roman leaders did was round up the trouble makers and force them to fight each other to the death. And when that stopped amusing the people they fed them to wild beasts.

And the Jews, they scourged some and stoned others! Pleasant wouldn’t you say?

Remember Jesus’ words, “16 Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; so be shrewd as serpents and innocent as doves. 17 But beware of men, for they will hand you over to the courts and scourge you in their synagogues; 18 and you will even be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles.” [Matthew 10]

Or this one, “10 Then He continued by saying to them, “Nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, 11 and there will be great earthquakes, and in various places plagues and famines; and there will be terrors and great signs from heaven. 12 But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and will persecute you, delivering you to the synagogues and prisons, bringing you before kings and governors for My name’s sake. 13 It will lead to an opportunity for your testimony.” [Luke 21]

Plagues is an interesting word. It is the Greek word loimós / loy-mos’ and it means: A pestilence; a plague of disease.

Pestilence is even a more interesting word. It means: A fatal epidemic of disease.

Very interesting that Jesus would send His messengers right into the middle of all that mess!

I hope you notice that nowhere does Jesus say, “Now, make sure the governor okays your mission.” It AIN’T THERE FOLKS!

So much for safe salvation in their day! What a soft bunch of saints we have in our day!

Look, I understand epidemic is not a pandemic but to those people being sent into the middle of that mess they did not care whether it was epi or pan. It was a ‘demic’ [on the people] meaning they would have to trust Jesus to keep them safe in His unsafe salvation mission.

Go! Assemble! Those are commands, not suggestions. And they are not negotiable!

Jesus never checked with the Jewish religious/political leaders, or the Roman leaders, to make sure they approved of His traveling ministry or the travel of those who came from several hundred miles to be in His meetings.

Leprosy, which caused a person’s flesh to rot off was widespread in Jesus’s day. Was that the only plague plaguing the world they were to win for Jesus? I have been up close to a person with leprosy. Have you? It is not pretty or pleasant but Jesus must be presented to them.

In Jesus’ day, and most days up to this crisis, those affected would be quarantined away from the general population. Today, the general population, especially of those who claim Jesus heals the sick, are quarantined from those who need to be healed.

In Jesus’ day, the exhortation was to pray it was not in winter. Today, it is to pray there are no more than 10 people present. In some places now 2 is the maximum. Here’s to hoping those 2 are in agreement.

It is a historical fact that Christians of all generations have entered into the arena of death to bring healing and or comfort. Many have lost their lives to the very disease they were trying to defeat by bringing Christ to the hurting and dying.

Now, enter good ole Uncle Sam to the rescue. Who needs the church when we have the government?

Jesus marched on fulfilling His mission, and then He commissioned disciples to spread like wildfire all over the earth to advance His superior kingdom that destroys the works of the devil.

The church, in what should be its finest hour, has ceded that over to civil authorities. I called them in a previous Blog, the “A” Team.

Jesus’ Father sent Him to do specific ministry into a hotbed of hate and communicable diseases! And He said, “As the Father sent Me I send you. Go!”

“We can’t go, Kevin!”

“Why can’t you?”

“We saw the virus, and it is massive!”

“Our government is too! And, and, and, we were like grasshoppers in our own sight.”

Sound familiar? How did that work out for the last leadership team that lived like that?

As mentioned in the beginning of this Blog, one thing I have noticed that is absent [and I could have missed this part of the memo] from their explanation is, “We [your leadership team] have fasted and prayed and we believe the Lord has spoken instructing us to ask you to stay home until the crisis abates.”

For those leaders who did, and have looked their people in the eye and confirmed that I salute you! Well done! Great job!

For those who did not and therefore cannot look their people in the eye, I have a word for you. It is later in this Blog so please keep reading!

Something else I see, when leaders assemble the worship and media teams, and who knows who else is allowed to participate in person in order to broadcast their service to their faithful, it communicates a division between the “priests” and the laity.

It communicates the special ones are in the sanctuary but have no fear because they are looking out for everyone else’s well-being by telling them to stay home.

“Kevin, “we” did not tell them to stay home. We asked them to stay home.”

Did you ask them to pray and ask God if they were to assemble with you?

If you did not then you told them to stay home!

Have you taught them to hear from God?

Why don’t you trust them to hear from God?

Is it because you did not hear from God?

Selah

You see dear leader, at the mere suggestion from “your” [governmental] leaders you canceled your services and told your followers to follow their guidelines, not Gods. They did not order you to cancel. They suggested you cancel out of the abundance of caution and for the greater good. And you complied!

You elevated earthly authority over heavenly authority. This is much worse than what King Saul did. Saul was a people pleaser instead of a God pleaser. He wanted to make the people happy so he did what they wanted, not what God wanted. He disqualified himself from ruling in Israel.

God removed him and set in David who sought God’s heart for the people. David had a “hold” he would enter to hear from God. It was his prayer closet!

You, on the other hand, sought council from secular authorities. You got your marching orders from the media mouthpieces of the government.

Selah

This is troubling to me on many levels.

Leaders of churches and ministries have proven they will comply at the mention of potential danger.

What will they do when the government suggests they and their people get a chip implanted in them so the government can know where they are in case something bad happens to them.

You know, the government would never impede on their freedoms! Never!

“I would never allow them to do that to me or my people!” Uh-huh!

Dear leader, you just proved how easy you can be manipulated so that you [not the government] will manipulate God’s people.

Maybe you don’t realize that you are assisting the kingdoms of this world to mislead and control people.

I was so tempted to use another image for this Blog that would have been apropos but for some would have been in bad taste. So, believe it or not, I constrained my creativity and went with the safe image that also communicates important truths laid out in the next portion of this Blog.

You dear leaders have fulfilled Jeremiah’s indictment against the shepherds of Israel.

I pray you will read this text and weep!

“6 My people have become lost sheep; Their shepherds have led them astray. They have made them turn aside on the mountains; They have gone along from mountain to hill and have forgotten their resting place. 7 All who came upon them have devoured them; And their adversaries have said, ‘We are not guilty, inasmuch as they have sinned against the Lord who is the habitation of righteousness, even the Lord, the hope of their fathers.’” [Jeremiah 50]

You, by complying with a directive from someone other than Jesus, the Head of His church, have:

* Caused God’s people to be lost sheep
* Led God’s people astray [away from Jesus the Head to a secular leader]
* Made God’s people turn aside on the mountain [mountains speak of governments and authority and God’s mountain has ascended above all other mountains]
* Transitioned them from the mountain [God’s government and authority] to a hill [man’s government and authority] thinking you are making them safer when in truth you are exposing them to more danger
* Caused God’s people to forget their resting place [In Him and His government and authority]
* Positioned those you are leading to be devoured
* Have sinned against the Lord your habitation [and the habitation of His people you lead] of righteousness, the hope of the fathers of the faith

You have transitioned their hope from God to the government. You have trained them to listen to the government of man and not the government of God.

In some ways, you have become the Pharisees and Sadduccees of our day. Jesus reserved His greatest denunciation for these leaders. One reason was because they were controlled by the political spirit of their day. They wanted to make sure the politicians stayed happy and out of their hair.

You have proven how immature you are, and the people you lead.

“Those who are led by the Spirit of God, THESE are the sons [mature and trusted] of God.” By not allowing them to make their own decision after seeking God’s advice you make them more susceptible to deception.

Jesus does not communicate to His leaders and people through secular governments. He communicates through His Spirit to His prophets [spokesmen], and directly to each person personally connected to Him and in tune with His communication.

The Book of Revelation is a great template to consider.

“1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show to His bond-servants, the things which must soon take place; and He sent and communicated it by His angel to His bond-servant John, 2 who testified to the word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, even to all that he saw. 3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and heed the things which are written in it; for the time is near.” [Revelation 1]

The resurrected Jesus communicated to His bond-servant John, by His Spirit. This was done so that Jesus could communicate to each of His bond-servants. This was a written communication that was to be read in each local church planted in 7 strategic locations in Asia Minor.

Jesus, by His Spirit, also communicates directly to His bond-servants so that when His written word is read and or preached, they will know it is He who is communicating to them.

Here is what John had to say about being protected from deceptive errors. “20 But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you all know. 21 I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it, and because no lie is of the truth. 27 As for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him.” [1 John 2]

He also penned these famous words – “My sheep hear My voice, and the voice of a stranger they will not follow.” This is why the secular government [strange voice] manipulated you, dear leader. God’s people that you lead, trust you.

In the sermon on the Mount Jesus instructed His current disciples and future church leaders with this admonition, “Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.”

These false spokesmen come to the leaders of God’s people so they can have access to them through the leaders.

And you fell for it!

Jesus, the same One who spoke to and through Jeremiah generations before, called these false spokesmen, ravenous wolves!

Paul would use this same language when he spoke for the last time to the elders of the church in Ephesus.

“17 From Miletus he sent to Ephesus and called to him the elders of the church. 18 And when they had come to him, he said to them, ‘You yourselves know, from the first day that I set foot in Asia, how I was with you the whole time, 19 serving the Lord with all humility and with tears and with trials which came upon me through the plots of the Jews; 20 how I did not shrink from declaring to you anything that was profitable, and teaching you publicly and from house to house, 21 solemnly testifying to both Jews and Greeks of repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.

22 And now, behold, bound by the Spirit, I am on my way to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there, 23 except that the Holy Spirit solemnly testifies to me in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions await me. 24 But I do not consider my life of any account as dear to myself, so that I may finish my course and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify solemnly of the gospel of the grace of God. 25 And now, behold, I know that all of you, among whom I went about preaching the kingdom, will no longer see my face.

26 Therefore, I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all men. 27 For I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole purpose of God.

28 Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.

29 I know that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock; 30 and from among your own selves men will arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them.

31 Therefore be on the alert, remembering that night and day for a period of three years I did not cease to admonish each one with tears. 32 And now I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.’” {Acts 20]

Do you see the same instructions Jeremiah and Jesus spoke in this text?

Those who really know me know I do not think or talk like what is next. I tread very lightly when I feel God has revealed something of this nature to me. Thus, I have sat on this and prayed with my wife for the past year. I only release this now because we believe it is time to warn the watchmen.

Paul wrote warnings to people. I know, I am not Paul but I do have the same Spirit he had and there are times when the Spirit will speak through someone no one knows or normally listens to. So please listen for the voice of the Lord in the words you are about to read.

My recommendation to those of you who did not seek God, and therefore did not hear from Him to stop your public services and to encourage your people to shelter in place is this: Repent and publicly apologize for your sin against the Lord and the people He assigned you to lead!

My warning to those of you who did not seek God, and therefore did not hear from Him to stop your public services and for you to tell your people to shelter in place, is this: If you do not publicly repent you will face one of two judgments: 1] Disqualification to lead God’s people, or 2] Death in your pulpit.

Almost a year ago the Holy Spirit spoke to me and showed me preachers would be dying in their pulpits and some of God’s people would be dying in the “pews.”

Judgment begins in God’s House and He showed me it will begin in His house with His leaders, the same way He excoriated the leaders of the Jews who refused to repent for their sins.

Because judgment begins in His house, what will become of those outside His house?

Lampstands and lives will be removed from God’s House! God is cleaning His house!

“If the light that is in you in darkness, how great is the darkness?”

God, from the beginning, separates the light from the darkness. “God saw that the light was good, and God separated the light from the darkness.”

If you will not come out from the darkness you live in then God will remove your light from you!

Prophets, Prophecy, Accuracy, and Accountability

UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_207f.jpgThere is not one Godly prophet in the Old or New Testaments, including Jesus, who prophesied something that did not come to pass within a reasonable amount of time, much less that never came to pass.

In the Old Testament when someone spoke in the name of the Lord and what they said was not true, or what they predicted did not come to pass, they died at the hands of God’s people.

This tells me that Isaiah, who prophesied a virgin would be with child eight centuries before Mary conceived Jesus in the Immaculate Conception, either had a special grace and favor with God and man, or in some fashion his predictive word came to pass in his lifetime.

In the New Testament, those who speak in the name of the Lord something that is not true, or that does not come to pass is not killed by God’s people, but their ministry can die because God’s people have the right and responsibility to judge what is said to be from God.

Paul and Silas found out that although the people in Berea were extremely excited for them to come teach them, they did not take what Paul and Silas taught as truth as being true until they searched the Scriptures themselves – daily.

“10 The brethren [in Thessalonica] immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea, and when they arrived, they went into the synagogue of the Jews. 11 Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so.” [Acts 17]

This examining of the Old Testament Scriptures [here Greek / graphe – written word] is a different word Paul used when he commanded the Thessalonicans to examine prophecy and those who prophesy. This word ‘examine’ means to investigate, sift, interrogate, question. It comes from a root word meaning to repeatedly and intensively forensically test. When teaching people how to study the Bible I encourage them to be like a detective walking into a crime scene with no preconceived ideas on what happened. There are six questions the inquisitive inquisitor should ask every text they read. They are: who, what, when, where, why and how.

UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_1ff0.jpg

As you ask those questions gazing into the text you will begin to see the truths that are contained within it. Like looking at a hologram, it may take some time to see what is in there but when the time is taken to see the student will quickly begin to  learn.

This examination will be encouraged by Paul in his great instruction on judging prophets and prophecy in 1 Corinthians 14:29. We will “examine” that text later!

Apparently Paul and Silas were fine with being examined, as well as their teaching being examined by the Thessalonican people. Every legitimate minister is okay with being examined!

In many places nobility is lacking both in those who minister and those they minister to.

Credibility is such a rare commodity in our world today and I am greatly concerned a lack of credibility and accountability has crept into the church Jesus is building as well. Fact checking God’s ministers has been around since the beginning of when people started saying they came [to speak, to teach] in the name of the Lord. Too many “hear from God” and leave when the examination commences.

Even Jesus submitted His ministry to those He ministered to – “37 If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me; 38 but if I do them, though you do not believe Me, believe the works, so that you may know and understand that the Father is in Me, and I in the Father.” [John 10]

Jesus’ words and His works matched the works of His Father which should have convinced the Jews He was legitimate. What we say is as important as what we do and when they are not congruent people have a right to reject what we say and do, which means they reject us as worthy to minister to them. unless we become vulnerable and accountable to them.

You cannot disconnect what a person says and does from that person! “Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks” so what we say reveals what is really in our heart.

Nicodemus who was a teacher of the Jews recognized this connection when he said to Jesus, “Rabbi, we know that You have come from God as a teacher; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him” [John 3:2].

In the Old Testament the punishment was so severe for speaking in God’s name something untrue, or that did not come to pass because God’s people did not have the Holy Spirit inside of them and could easily be led astray. Prophets were accepted as God’s delegated spokesmen.

In the New Testament every true born again believer has the Holy Spirit inside of them and it is their responsibility to test everything to ensure what they are told is true. Also, every born again believer has the right and responsibility to speak for the God that saved them, even moving in the gift of prophecy.

John wrote this in 1 John 2: “18 Children, it is the last hour; and just as you heard that antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have appeared; from this we know that it is the last hour. 19 They went out from us, but they were not really of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out, so that it would be shown that they all are not of us. 20 But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you all know. 21 I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it, and because no lie is of the truth. . . . 26 These things I have written to you concerning those who are trying to deceive you. 27 As for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him.”

When people run away from the very people they have said they love and are connected to because what they say and do come under scrutiny by those they say they love and are connected, it reveals a heart of corruption that John identifies as the spirit of the antichrist. John said many antichrists were on the scene in his day and those antichrists came from within the church. Keep in mind there was one church per region so it was unlikely those who left a church could become part of another one easily and inconspicuously.

Today, accountability is very difficult because there are multitudes of churches in search of gifted and anointed people. Most church growth is simply people shifting to different churches. Some simple fact checking could go a long way to rooting out the rebellious!

Two thousand years ago John referred to the time he lived in as “the last hour” twice in verse 18. John goes on to exhort the people to trust the anointing [Spirit of truth] that was in them would keep them safe from error. This means God’s people best be in God’s written Word [graphe in the Old and New Testaments] so they have God’s plumb line to line up what is being said or done in the name of the Lord with God’s eternal and established Word.

The anointing inside each believer is there to ensure they are not duped by the anointing of someone presenting themselves a representing God. When the one ministering insists their anointing is so good that those they minister to do not need to verify what they say and do is genuine, they misrepresent the God they claim to represent.

For all those concerned that we are living in the last days take a deep breath and relax, John lived in the last hour.

In fact, John wrote that Jesus spoke of this hour in the fourth chapter of his gospel.

“19 The woman said to Him, ‘Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet. 20 Our fathers worshiped in this mountain, and you people say that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.’ 21 Jesus said to her, ‘Woman, believe Me, an hour is coming when neither in this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father. 22 You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews. 23 But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. 24 God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.'”

In this text Jesus revealed an hour was coming twice and the second time He referred to it He said, “and now is,” two thousand years ago. John and Jesus were speaking of a contemporary reality that was imminent to that generation. The last hour, which was the hour that was “now is [here]” was the total destruction of Judaism as a life giving system. In fact, by the time John wrote his “last hour” prediction the destruction of Jerusalem and the sacred Jewish temple was fast approaching.

The “hour” was not understood to be a literal sixty minute time span but an imminent time change that was about to take place. I believe that “hour” started ticking down when Jesus died on the Cross and God ripped the veil in the temple from the top to the bottom exposing the Holy of Holies as being void of the Ark of the Covenant.

Now I know that what I just said is considered ridiculous in our pop-culture Christian world but I believe every Book of the New Testament, including The Revelation of Jesus Christ, was completed prior to 70AD.

Paul said this in Hebrews chapter eight verse thirteen, “When He said, ‘A new covenant,’ He has made the first obsolete. But whatever is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to disappear.” It is understood that Hebrews was written in or about 67AD meaning within three years or so Judaism died and was burned with fire along with Jerusalem and the temple.

Jesus had predicted prior to His Olivet Discourse and in that Discourse that the generation who heard what He said would see the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple. Jesus even referred to His disciples multiple times in His discourse. [See Matthew 23, 24; Mark 13]

The pre-incarnate Christ appeared to Abraham and Sarah revealing, “At this time next year you will have a son.” Here is the text found in Genesis 18 – “9 Then they said to him, ‘Where is Sarah your wife?’ And he said, ‘There, in the tent.’ 10 He said, ‘I will surely return to you at this time next year; and behold, Sarah your wife will have a son.’ And Sarah was listening at the tent door, which was behind him. 11 Now Abraham and Sarah were old, advanced in age; Sarah was past childbearing. 12 Sarah laughed to herself, saying, ‘After I have become old, shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?’ 13 And the Lord said to Abraham, ‘Why did Sarah laugh, saying, ‘Shall I indeed bear a child, when I am so old?’ 14 Is anything too difficult for the Lord? At the appointed time I will return to you, at this time next year, and Sarah will have a son.’ 15 Sarah denied it however, saying, ‘I did not laugh’; for she was afraid. And He said, ‘No, but you did laugh.'”

Now we could take this predictive prophecy two ways. First, we could say that the Lord was saying Sarah would have an immaculate conception. But we know that is not what was meant because there could only be one immaculate conception and that would not happen for approximately 2,021 years. Second, Abraham and Sarah, although past the age of childbearing and quite possibly the age of engaging in sexual intercourse, went into their tent and had marital relations needed to conceive a child.

The second option seems more likely to me based on what Paul said in Hebrews chapter eleven and Romans chapter four.

Hebrews 11 – “11 By faith even Sarah herself received ability to conceive, even beyond the proper time of life, since she considered Him faithful who had promised. 12 Therefore there was born even of one man, and him as good as dead at that, as many descendants as the stars of heaven in number, and innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore.”

Sarah’s faith energized her reproductive organs and quite possibly activated her sexual desire. They had tried for twenty five years to have a child without success. In addition to being too old to have children in the natural [Sarah was ninety and Abraham was one hundred] we can safely assume the desire to try waned over the years too.

Romans 4 – “16 For this reason it is by faith, in order that it may be in accordance with grace, so that the promise will be guaranteed to all the descendants, not only to those who are of the Law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all, 17 [as it is written, ‘A father of many nations have I made you’] in the presence of Him whom he believed, even God, who gives life to the dead and calls into being that which does not exist. 18 In hope against hope he believed, so that he might become a father of many nations according to that which had been spoken, ‘So shall your descendants be.’ 19 Without becoming weak in faith he contemplated his own body, now as good as dead since he was about a hundred years old, and the deadness of Sarah’s womb; 20 yet, with respect to the promise of God, he did not waver in unbelief but grew strong in faith, giving glory to God, 21 and being fully assured that what God had promised, He was able also to perform. 22 Therefore It was also credited to him as righteousness.”

‘Perform’ here means he was able to do the necessary work required to produce what the Lord promised them. Abraham took inventory of his natural condition and weighed that against the weight of God’s promise of a son with Sarah. Abraham faced the facts of Sarah’s and his condition but chose to focus on the truth of God’s word. As he considered what he was facing his respect for God far outweighed his history of losing expectation of becoming a father of the son of promise. Abraham’s faith grew stronger as he glorified God. As he became fully assured that what God promised was going to come to pass he was given the ability and desire to perform. His performance was credited to him as righteousness.

Agabus was a recognized prophet in the church in Jerusalem. His prophetic ministry is revealed in Acts 11 and Acts 21. What we find in those texts is Agabus was a predictive prophet because both times he is mentioned he is predicting future events.

It is interesting to me God used a prophet whose name means locust to prophesy a famine, but He did. Maybe Agabus himself was the message to the saints about a future problem in Judea!

“27 Now at this time some prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch. 28 One of them named Agabus stood up and began to indicate [signify] by the Spirit that there would certainly be a great famine all over the world. And this took place in the reign of Claudius. 29 And in the proportion that any of the disciples had means, each of them determined to send a contribution for the relief of the brethren living in Judea. 30 And this they did, sending it in charge of Barnabas and Saul to the elders.” [Acts 11]

Luke writes that a plurality of prophets arrived in Antioch from the Jerusalem church. We do not know how many prophets were with Agabus and what the additional prophets did in Antioch. All we are told is Agabus prophesied a famine that would affect the whole world. Now, “whole world” can be interpreted as the whole world, the whole world Rome was ruling over, or the whole land of Judea. My guess is he was predicting a famine throughout Judea because that is where the relief supplies were directed and delivered to the elders – in Jerusalem!

We do not even know if Agabus and his team of prophets were a part of the eldership team in Jerusalem, just the provisions were delivered to them by Barnabas and Saul [Paul].

Did you notice his predictive prophesy came to pass during the reign of Claudius. Luke does not record Agabus placing a time frame on his word from God. Historians put this famine in 45AD. If Agabus prophesied in or about 40AD then his prophecy came to pass within five years.

The next time we find Agabus prophesying is in Acts 21 where he prophesied in Caesarea that Paul would be arrested in Jerusalem. Luke writes that Paul was arrested in the temple during that trip to Jerusalem.

Do you see that predictive prophets cannot claim they speak for God when what they predict does not come to pass in a reasonable amount of time? Jesus predicted the destruction of Jerusalem within a generation [forty years – 30AD – 70AD] so the people had every right to expect that within forty years His prediction would come true. And it did!

Agabus did not put a time frame on either one of his predictive prophesies although it could have been, and very well may have been, understood Paul would be arrested on that trip into Jerusalem. And he was indeed arrested on that trip to Jerusalem.

There is no evidence that God ever releases a prophetic word that does not have a shelf life of a reasonable amount of time. And when a prophet gives a specific time frame, just as Jesus did in His Olivet Discourse, that prophet is on the hook for what they predicted to come to pass.

How else could God’s people “examine [test] everything carefully” and “hold onto that which is good” as Paul wrote in 1 Thessalonians 5, if they must continue to hang on forever waiting on the word to come true?

“19 Do not quench the Spirit; 20 do not despise prophetic utterances. 21 But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good; 22 abstain from every form of evil.

Paul first said, “Do not quench the Holy Spirit.” Many have interpreted that to mean “do not despise prophesies” but that is not what the Holy Spirit meant when He had Paul write it before “do not despise prophecies.” Quenching the Holy Spirit first and foremost means to not allow Him to function in His primary calling to comfort and convict, as well as to lead people into all the truth [God’s written Word].

Jesus first reveals the Holy Spirit as ‘Helper.” Then as the “Spirit of truth.” Then as the One who “will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.” [John 14]

Helper means One called to come alongside for the purpose of providing aid, to advocate, assist, counsel, console, and intercede for.

.Then he said, “Do not despise prophesies” which means it is possible for God’s people to despise prophecy. We know that many church cultures refuse to allow prophets and the gift of prophecy to operate in their environments. Apparently prophecy is despised in some places today and I believe the reason is because of all the “words from God” that never come to pass.

Then he said, “Hold onto that which is good” meaning not to hold onto anything or anyone that is not good.

Lastly he said, “abstain from every form of evil.” ‘Abstain’ literally means: To prevent, to keep your distance from, and to not receive [have] anything evil [harmful, perverted, diseased, impoverished, and not productive].

What did Paul mean when he wrote, “examine everything carefully”? Paul uses language that those who tested metals and currency for purity and authenticity understood. Paul wanted the saints at Thessalonica to test by fire and by pressure what was offered to them, and those who offered it. Paul had written something similar to the saints in Corinth. “each man’s work will become evident; for the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test the quality of each man’s work [and words]” [1 Corinthians 3:13].

Paul was instructing the Thessalonican saints not to be credulous but to examine everything and everyone with great care. Where Luke wrote these same people poured through the Scriptures [Old Testament] carefully to compare what they were being taught as truth with the Truth, Paul wrote they were to examine everything and everyone with heated discourse, applying pressure in private, just like a smelter of silver and gold and the person tasked with ensuring the currency was not counterfeit, to discover what was in the heart of the people presenting themselves as legitimate ministers.

One great tool for the initial examination is the gift of the Spirit known as discerning of spirits. This gift is given by the Holy Spirit to alert us to what kind of spirit is operating in any given situation, individual or group setting. This gift discerns [distinguishes and identifies] whether it is the Holy Spirit, human spirit, angel or demonic spirit operating in our midst. The Holy Spirit is the first line of defense when we are hearing anyone speak for God. Being sensitive to the Spirit is vitally important and we must learn to recognize what He is saying inside of us. Then we must allow the Spirit to lead and guide us into all truth as found in the Scripture [graphe].

I believe this gift was used by Paul when he confronted the slave girl operating in divination [false prophecy] in Philippi [Ats 16]. “16 It happened that as we were going to the place of prayer, a slave-girl having a spirit of divination met us, who was bringing her masters much profit by fortune-telling. 17 Following after Paul and us, she kept crying out, saying, ‘These men are bond-servants of the Most High God, who are proclaiming to you the way of salvation.’ 18 She continued doing this for many days. But Paul was greatly annoyed, and turned and said to the spirit, ‘I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her!’ And it came out at that very moment.”

Here we see it is possible to have an accurate word come from a person with a demonic spirit. Divination is obtaining unknown knowledge through a spiritual source other than God, thus the slave girl had a spirit of divination. She had given herself over to it because it gave her the ability to profit monetarily.

This spirit is a counterfeit to the gifts of the Holy Spirit called words of knowledge and words of wisdom, which often work in tandem with prophecy. The Greek word used is Pýthōn. Isn’t it interesting how that serpent is always looking for an opportunity to slip into our midst to deceive us? How did Paul know she was not a legitimate prophetic person? The Holy Spirit’s gift of the discerning of spirits is what I believe he used to recognize she was a fortune teller.

Paul cast that spirit out of her and that caused a riot and eventually a revival church to be birthed! In between there was pain, prison and then greater manifest Presence! That is usually God’s process to revival in an individual or a region!

In Philippi Paul and his team met a lady from Thyatira named Lydia. Lydia was an entrepreneur who sold purple fabrics. Lydia means travail and Thyatira means the odor of affliction. Lydia was a worshiper of God whose heart God opened to receive Paul, his team and their ministry. Lydia provided a temporary base of operations in Philippi for the advancement of the gospel of the kingdom to proceed into Europe.

I encourage you to read the resurrected Jesus’ words to the church at Thyatira found in Revelation 2:18-29. He begins with [verse 18] – “And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write: The Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and His feet are like burnished bronze, says this:” In the middle of His word to Thyatira Jesus says in verse 23, “and all the churches will know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts; and I will give to each one of you according to your deeds.” Do you notice a pattern?

We saw above what John wrote in 1 John 2 about the Holy Spirit [anointing] protecting us from being deceived in. He also wrote this in 1 John 5 [KJV] – “6 And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth. 7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.”

Jesus, before he came as a human was known in eternity past as the Word [John 1:1]. John wrote the Word became flesh [1:14]. Now, since He ascended to the throne next to His Father He is known as the only Mediator between God and man, “the Man Christ Jesus,” Now in eternity present and future He is known as the Man who Mediates.

This is in and of itself a huge subject but suffice it to say the Father, the Word that still remains in heaven now that Jesus came to earth and returned as a resurrected Man, and the Spirit all bear witness in earth to that which is accepted in heaven for use in the earth.

Look at what Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 12 – “29 Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others pass judgment. 30 But if a revelation is made to another who is seated, the first one must keep silent. 31 For you can all prophesy one by one, so that all may learn and all may be exhorted; 32 and the spirits of prophets are subject to prophets; 33 for God is not a God of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.

Paul did not allow for prophecy to go without being judged and neither did he allow for prophets to escape judgment. Lets examine carefully Paul’s instructions on how to steward prophets and prophetic ministry.

  • In a particular service only two to three prophets should speak
    • I believe this is because every matter is to be established out of the mouths of two to three witnesses which means the two to three prophets prophesying should prophesy things that are in harmony with each other and God’s eternal Word
    • 2 Peter 1 – “19 So we have the prophetic word made more sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts. 20 But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation, 21 for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.
      • Scripture, all of it, is to be how we judge any prophet or prophetic ministry
      • If someone prophesies anything contrary to Scripture it is to be rejected and if the person prophesying refuses to admit what they have prophesied is not in line with Scripture they are to be rejected because they are self interpreting and judging their own prophecies and prophetic ministry
  • As each prophet speaks “the others” pass judgment
    • Is Paul referring to the other prophets or the others in the hearing of the prophets
      • I believe the answer is yes, both the other prophets and the others in the hearing of the prophecies are to judge what is prophesied and those who prophesy
      • What does “pass judgment” mean
        • Pick it apart
        • To separate by straining through a strainer
        • To render a judicial decision based on every aspect of what is said and or done
  • The purpose of judging prophets and their prophecies is so:
    • All may learn
    • All may be encouraged
      • Who are the “all” who may learn and be encouraged
      • I believe all is all inclusive meaning all the prophets and all those exposed to their prophetic ministry
        • Prophets, just like apostles, evangelists, pastors and teachers are to equip the saints for the work of ministry, so their primary function is training everyone in prophetic ministry
    • Each prophet is to steward his own spirit by keeping it clean and pure and submitted to the other prophets and prophetic people who have learned and are being encouraged in their prophetic ministry
    • A prophet who refuses to pass through the judgment is to be judged as false
    • Encouragement is one of the three legs the gift of prophecy stands on [v3]
  • God is not confused and He does not spread or allow the spread of confusion in any of the churches of the saints

Again, to judge prophecy is to judge the person prophesying, whether that person is a prophet or not.

The New Testament warns about these false people and ministers:

  • False apostles [2 Corinthians 11:13; Revelation 2:2]
  • False prophets [Matthew 24:11,24; Mark 13:22; Acts 13:6; 2 Peter 2:1; 1 John 4:1; Revelation 16:13; 19:20; 20:10]
  • False Christs [saviors] [Matthew 24:24; Mark 13:22]
  • False teachers [2 Peter 2:1]
  • False brethren [2 Corinthians 11:26; Galatians 2:4]
  • False witness [Matthew 15:19; 19:18]
  • False circumcision [Philippians 3:2]

A cursory reading of church history reveals within the generation that was alive when Jesus was walking the planet all of the above were contemporary concerns for the genuine Christian, Christian leader and church community. And in the two thousand years since they are still a concern for leaders of the churches of the saints.

James tells us in chapter 3 verse 1 – “Let not many of you become teachers, my brethren, knowing that as such we will incur a stricter judgment.

“Stricter judgment” means a greater, larger, louder and stronger condemnation of wrong. This means the decisions made carry more weight and will travel farther than the judgments [decisions] of those who do not teach God’s people. This phrase comes from a Greek word that means: To separate for the purpose of approving or disapproving, determining what is right or wrong, and what is safe or unsafe. What is intended is to determine whether the one teaching is worthy of being trusted as a teacher.

That is why James uses the word “become” a teacher. Teachers are gifts of Christ who He calls to be[come] teachers. This means anyone called better know that it is a holy calling and not to be taken lightly. ‘Become’ means: To arise into the position, and onto the public stage you were called to take.

Paul reveals that teachers are third in line of importance in the church Jesus is building [the churches of the saints]. “And God has appointed in the church, first apostles, second prophets, third teachers.” [1 Corinthians 12:28]

So, if teachers who are third in line come under a “stricter judgment” what kind of judgment do apostles and prophets come under?

This is where accuracy and accountability intersect. If a person who teaches or prophesies speaks something that is not true or does not come to pass within a reasonable amount of time, then that person must be willing to give an account of what they said to those they said it to. Not only that, but they must root out the root problem[s] that caused them to speak in the name of the Lord something the Lord was not saying. It is not enough to say, “I’m sorry!” The person must understand and articulate why they said what they said.

If they refuse to make themselves and their ministry accountable then they are to be judged as false ministers because their heart is not holy.

The only way for a person judged as false can be reinstated in good standing is by repenting and submitting to the delegated authorities in the church of the saints they worship in.

Receive and steward God’s passion, power, presence, priority, process, promises, protection, provision, pruning, purging, purity and purpose!

Is Jesus Worried About A Wall?

Jesus is not anti-security or anti-wall!

Apparently the Pope is! At at least as it pertains to us and not him! He lives behind a huge wall, literally and metaphorically! He believes if you believe in a wall you cannot be a Christian. Okay?

The Pope believes he is the Vicar of Christ. I mean no ill toward the Pope or anyone who is Catholic, but he is not the Vicar of Christ and he is not the head of Christ’s Church. But that is another blog! Stay with me though and you may discover why the Pope feels it is okay for him to live behind a huge wall and restrict access to his domain.

I have been accused on many occasions of being black and white and that I am dangerous as a result of it. Those accusations are accurate, just not in the context of how they have been used. I am dangerous to the status quo of rote religiosity and unhealthy requirements to tow a company line that Jesus the Christ has not given me to tow.

Let’s take a stroll down memory lane!

3 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.” [Genesis 1]

Several things jump out at me as I read this text again.

  • God said let there be light and there was light!
  • God did not say let there be darkness! Why?
    • I believe I know but I want you to think about that question.
  • God saw the light and said that it [the light] was good!
  • God saw the darkness but He did not call it good! Why?
    • Again, I want you to think about the question.
  • God divided the light from the darkness! Why?
    • Once again I want you to think!
  • God called the light ‘day’ [hot]!
  • God called the dark ‘night’ [to twist, to roll back and away from the light. Or, the opposite of hot which is cold]!

Are you following me here? If not follow on with me!

14 And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write, ‘These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God: 15 I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. 16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot,  I will vomit you out of My mouth.” [Revelation 3]

There must be a clear delineation so that God, and people can know exactly where we stand on important issues that relate to heaven and earth! Lukewarmness is an affront to God and those who will not make a clear stand in the light [hot] or the dark [cold] must repent or be spewed [puked, vomited] out of Jesus’s mouth!

To be intellectually honest I see at least two meanings here:

First and foremost, Laodicea sat between an area of hot springs and an area of cold mountain bodies of water. Both of these two places were known for their refreshing and therapeutic characteristics. So, if we are not refreshing and therapeutic then we are in danger of being vomit. That is the context of what Jesus is saying in this text.

Two, you have to decide what you are going to be and where you are going to stand. I find it interesting in the Book of Beginnings [Genesis] and the Book of Revealings [Revelation of Christ] we find references to hot [day] and cold [night] as it pertains to a clear delineation of our posture, position and representation of Jesus Christ.

Therefore, in the Revelation text darkness as it pertains to displeasing God is living in compromise where you are unwilling to make a stand that is clear cut, consistent and capable of being helpful to others looking for and needing refreshing and healing.

Jesus is not into allowing our being abused unnecessarily!

But I say to you, do not resist an evil person; but whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also.” [Matthew 5:39]

But wait just one minute. How did Jesus respond when He was slapped at His mock trial?

22 And when He had said these things, one of the officers who stood by struck Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying, “Do You answer the high priest like that?” 23 Jesus answered him, If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil; but if well, why do you strike Me?” [John 18]

Did you notice the obvious in what Jesus said and did not say? Jesus said there are times when “slaps” are not appropriate. In His case at that time it was not appropriate for the officers to slap Him. So He did not turn His cheek and take another blow!
Jesus said, “If I did not speak evil [a falsehood] why did you slap Me?” It is a fair question to ask was He inferring a “righteous” slap would have been appropriate?
“Faithful are the wounds  of a friend, but deceitful are the kisses  of an enemy.” [Proverbs 27:6]
I believe Jesus was also inferring that we don’t have to just stand by and get slapped because someone wants to wound, hurt and or offend us. This was a religious trial that was not legal according to the Jewish law. Jesus defended His position and did not turn the other cheek.
When Jesus stood before Pilate and was being interrogated by him Jesus did not “stand down.” He spoke truth to the one [Pilate] who believed he was in charge of that conversation.
Yet, later when He was being mocked and abused [slapped] by the Romans He did turn the other cheek. That was part of God’s redemptive plan for man!
I have been slapped by people when I needed it and I have been slapped by people when it was not justified.
I have been wounded by friends when I needed it and I have been kissed by enemies disguised as friends when I did not deserve it! Some of the most vocal “Amener’s” have been some of the most vehement and violent “slappers”.
We need to know when to justify our position and when to turn the other cheek!
“When you are persecuted in one city flee to the next.” [MT 10:23]
“15 Therefore when you see the abomination of desolation which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), 16 then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains.” [MT 24]
These texts indicate Jesus did not want His people [followers, disciples, brothers and sisters according to God’s redemptive plan] to die foolishly or prematurely, in the upcoming and impending destruction of Jerusalem.
But the king was enraged, and he sent his armies and destroyed those murderers and set their city on fire.” [MT 22:7]
This is a prophetic parable revealing the impending destruction of Jerusalem, Judaism and the unrepentant people in the city. Jesus is saying once again, as He did all through the Old Testament, that God [the king] would send [use] foreign invaders to destroy the Jewish people because of their arrogance and absolute rebellion against the king [Him].
“And Jesus said to them [His followers, disciples, brothers and sisters according to God’s plan of redemption], ‘Do you not see all these things? Assuredly, I say to you, not one stone shall be left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down.’” [MT 24:2]
The reason for this prophetic revelation was because the Jewish people had reached the tipping point of rebellion against God and Jesus was responding to and answering specific questions from the disciples He called and trained for 3 1/2 years.
What if the Jews [all the house of Israel, not just a small remnant] had repented of their conspiracy to kill Jesus?
What if they as a nation had accepted Jesus as the Savior of the world?
Would the Romans have still come and slaughtered over 1 million Jews, destroyed Jerusalem and the hallowed Temple, and torn down that wall?
We will never know!
If Jesus was anti wall then why didn’t He say, “Do you see that wall? I don’t like it or what it represents. So, I am going to give you My closest allies a plan to bring it down just like I  brought down the wall of Jericho!”
The only reason that wall came down was because of the absolute arrogance of those who hid behind it. It was not an impediment to what Jesus was there to do or would ever do.
If a wall is built in the USA to provide a safe boundary for the citizens to live in peace and real productivity, Jesus will not be upset and His purposes for the USA and the world will not be encumbered in any way! To insinuate otherwise is simply arrogance on display!
By the way, the New Jerusalem, the Heavenly City, the Bride of Christ, has a huge wall and only 12 gates.
2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband. 10 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, 11 having the glory of God. Her brilliance was like a very costly stone, as a stone of crystal-clear jasper. 12 It had a great and high wall, with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels; and names were written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel. 13 There were three gates on the east and three gates on the north and three gates on the south and three gates on the west. 14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundation stones, and on them were the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.”[Revelation 21:2; 10-14]
And God will not allow anyone or anything unholy into His walled city.
“And nothing unclean, and no one who practices abomination and lying, shall ever come into it, but only those whose  names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.” [Revelation 21:27]
To me, it is absolutely ridiculous for religious people and especially religious leaders to insinuate God would not be pleased with the government of the USA’s attempts to secure our borders even if it meant building a wall with limited number of gates to control entry into and exiting out of this wonderful land.
And just in case you are not sure of what I feel, believe or where I stand on this critical issue – I am over the mockers in ministry who think that love means not having conditions to being in relationship with God or other people, and especially Christian people.
My goodness folks, read the Bible without preconceived and predetermined biases.
God has always had conditions to relationship!
Read the Bible slow!
Read the Bible as if you have never read it before or ever heard someone teach it before!
Read it like the Berean believers in Acts 17! They received the taught word with gladness but searched the Scriptures themselves to see if what was being taught as truth was true!
And please, develop critical thinking! I am not talking about having a critical spirit or giving yourself over to criticism. I am talking about being able to think for yourself and not blindly follow someone because you are in agreement with what they say or teach because that is what you have been taught to do.
Stop following those who tell what to think! Find someone who will teach you how to think!
Just because you agree with what your favorite teacher says is true does not mean what you believe to be true is truth.
I learned that lesson the hard way! I learned that you can honor man [authority] and dishonor God and that you may have to disobey man in order to honor God. The tension is in the knowing which is appropriate!
The church suffers from the Moses syndrome – “Moses, go up on the mountain and hear what God is saying and then come down and tell us what He said.”
You are responsible for your own self!
