This Blog is the first of three in the series I am calling authenticity, authority and anointing.

These three attributes, or characteristics, are core values that I look for when looking for relationships generally in my life, specifically in the kingdom of God, and especially in those to whom I choose to submit my spiritual well-being.

A lot is being said and written again about women in ministry. I wrote a Blog called Women Ministers on October 26 of this year where I did not delve deeply into the contrived controversy. Instead, I asked a series of logical [to me] questions that I hope will create a hunger to know the truth about this issue.

While this series is not specifically about women, or women ministers, it does involve that vital subject. I would rather sit under the ministry of a woman who is authentic, under God’s authority, and anointed by the Holy Spirit than any man who is not authentic, under God’s authority, and or not anointed by the Holy Spirit.

In fact, a man could be under authority and anointed but if he was not authentic I would never submit my life to him!

Authenticity is such an important virtue! Unfortunately it is becoming more rare, even in the body of Christ. When ministers refuse to preach and teach what they say they believe because of how the people they lead or the people they lead with would respond, they are not being authentic.

According to the Dictionary app on my MacBook Pro, the first definition of authentic is “of undisputed origin.” I love that that is the initial view into the meaning of the word.

Dictionary.com defines authentic thus:

Not false or copied; genuine; real
Having an origin supported by unquestionable evidence; authenticated; verified
Representing one’s true nature or beliefs; true to oneself or to the person identified
Entitled to acceptance or belief because of agreement with known facts or experience; reliable; trustworthy

Confusion is not from the Father so if a person is unwilling to authentically represent Him in their life and or ministry then they are causing the origin [Author] of their life, and or ministry to be disputed. Additionally, it is absolutely acceptable to call into question that person and their stated beliefs.

God does not call people to represent Him and then to deny the very things He has revealed to them, in them and through them. PERIOD!

Galatians 3 – “1 You foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified? 2 This is the only thing I want to find out from you: did you receive the Spirit by the works of the Law, or by hearing with faith? 3 Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh? 4 Did you suffer so many things in vain—if indeed it was in vain? 5 So then, does He who provides you with the Spirit and works miracles among you, do it by the works of the Law, or by hearing with faith?”

Apparently the Galatians had fallen prey to preachers who brought another gospel, one that according to Paul was not the authentic gospel. In part, part of the deception was the denial of the supernatural ministry of the Spirit of God.

“2 This is the only thing I want to find out from you: did you receive the Spirit by the works of the Law, or by hearing with faith? 5 So then, does He who provides you with the Spirit and works miracles among you, do it by the works of the Law, or by hearing with faith?” Working miracles is one of the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Do you realize you can admit [not deny] the existence of God and daily deny Him in your life? Jesus said, “Deny me before men, and I will deny you before My Father.”

Are you denying God in your life and or ministry?

How are you denying God in your life?

What has God revealed to you that you have accepted as His truth?

Are you wholeheartedly revealing those things to the people God has called you to lead, or to lead with? This begins in the home by the way!

What is going on in your heart if you are fearful of being authentic with the people you are in community with?

I am not talking about the typical recognized sinful behavior [denying Christ is a sin]. I am talking about authentic encounters with the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ, whether directly or in His Word.

Where are you going? Who are you leading? Where are you leading them?

Are you going into Authenti-City [authentic community]?

Or, are you leading people into confusion, compromise, chaos, and dispute – because that is where you currently reside in your compromise?

Donna and I founded and led a vibrant church for 16 years. We lost count of the times members of other churches would seek our counsel [ministry] because they could not trust the leaders they were in community with. We would ask, “Why are you submitting your soul to someone you do not trust?” Their answer, almost to a person, had to do with non Kingdom matters. We knew that what they received would not be received where they attended church – and that they would remain in the community where compromise was a core-value. Sad!

Authenti City – a rare commodity and community – for sure!

Receive and steward God’s passion, power, presence, priority, process, promises, protection, provision, pruning, purging, purity and purpose!

This is a follow up blog to my last one titled, The Shemitah, Blood Moons, The Pope And The Real People Of God. Since I wrote and published that blog “the windows of heaven were opened” and the State and people of South Carolina were introduced to challenges to their well-being that have not been seen in their State since the 1800’s. It has been reported that they [the citizens in the 1800’s] were inundated with large amounts of rain in a very short period of time. So, instead of a 1000 year event, as Governor Nikki Haley pronounced, it is really more like a 100 – 200 year event.

Back then there was not the amount of people, structures or infrastructure to be confronted with the severity of the situation!

I titled this blog Mistreatment From Misdiagnosis because there are those who want to believe that God Himself is responsible for this horrendous “heavenly” release of devastation. When doctors misdiagnose one of their patient’s problems they can prescribe a “cure” that produces the wrong prognosis.

Prognosis comes from two words that means, “to know before.” When what we “know before” is not what really is then the results can be disastrous. That is what is happening when people who say they know what God is up to, attribute what is happening in the world to Him, when He is not the source of the current events.

Their error is in what they believe they already know. These false prognosticators read into the Scripture current events instead of allowing Scripture to interpret Scripture. When Scripture is allowed to interpret Scripture we will discover that a lot of what is “supposed to happen” has already happened.

Let’s take a look at some very important truths that are hidden in plain sight. Those who have not already made up their mind as to the real culprit in this catastrophic circumstance will be presented with an very different picture of who is to blame for the plight of the people.

Psalm 24:1

“The earth is the Lord’s and all that is in it. The world and all who dwell in it.”

The earth has always been, and will always be the Lords. One of the first mistreatments of Scripture is the belief that when Adam and Eve sinned against God they gave the serpent [devil] the title deed to the planet. They did not give him the title to the planet. They gave him their right to rule as ambassadors for God.

Matthew 5:5

“Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.”

Jesus unequivocally states in the Beatitudes that God has reserved the earth as part of His children’s inheritance.

Matthew 5:43-48

“43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? 48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.”

This text tells us that in order for us to represent our Father we must behave like He does when He is mistreated. This text is not about what happens to us. Instead it is about how we are to behave when we are not treated in an honorable way. We are to be just as are Father is – perfect.

It is reported that 11 trillion gallons of water [rain] fell on South Carolina during this latest deluge. Water weighs approximately 8.34 pounds per gallon. Do the math!

People have been displaced and others have died. Much property has been destroyed as well.

It makes no sense to me that anyone would consider for a single second that God unleashed this devastation upon the people of South Carolina, or anywhere else for that matter.

Look at what Psalm 37:9 says, ” For evildoers shall be cut off; But those who wait on [serve] the Lord [and His purposes], they shall inherit the earth.”

Now you know where Jesus got the Matthew 5:5 statement. God is not destroying the very things that belong to Him and that He has reserved as an inheritance for His kids. A real reading of Psalm 37 will give the intellectually honest student of Scripture the understanding that a day is coming when all that, and all those, who corrupt God’s purposes will be removed.

I would encourage you to study the Parables of Jesus in the Gospels and see how often He elaborates on this truth.

In Matthew 23 He says, “24 Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; 25 but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. 26 But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared. 27 So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’ 28 He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’ 29 But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.”‘”

Do you see how Jesus said “judgment” would be handled? At the end when the harvest is collected! By the way, this is one of many verses that have the word “until” in them. A great study I recommend to people confused about the “end times” is to search, study, meditate on and memorize the “until” verses of Scripture. When I started my own study after the Y2K debacle my eyes were opened to a different gospel. You would be wise to start your own study too.

Ahhh, but the thief [enemy] comes ONLY to steal, kill and to destroy [John 10:10a]. Now we have discovered who Jesus reveals as the one responsible for wrecking havoc on people, places and things. It makes sense to me that the devil would create chaos [he has a long history of that] and somehow manipulate the minds of the masses into believing that God is one who is destroying everything and everyone.

The real terrorist traumatizing the people and the planet that God loves is the god of this world, the prince of the power of the air. He is perverting the very blessings God provides to be a blessing [rain and sun], even to those who don’t know Him, love Him, or bless Him in return.

John 10:10b

“But I [Jesus, the perfect representative of Father God] came that YOU might have life, and that [life] in abundance.”

Deal with it! And in dealing with it correct your incorrect theology so that you too can re-represent God the Father to people who already think He is a mean spirited being, if they believe in Him at all.

Speaking of being mean spirited –

John 9

“51 Now it came to pass, when the time had come for Him to be received up, that He steadfastly set His face to go to Jerusalem, 52 and sent messengers before His face. And as they went, they entered a village of the Samaritans, to prepare for Him. 53 But they did not receive Him, because His face was set for the journey to Jerusalem. 54 And when His disciples James and John saw this, they said, “Lord, do You want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them, just as Elijah did?” 55 But He turned and rebuked them, and said, “You do not know what manner of spirit you are of. 56 For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives but to save them.” And they went to another village.”

From the beginning Jesus has had disciples who did not understand Him. By misdiagnosing Jesus and His heavenly mission they wanted to mistreat the very people Jesus came to deliver.

Things have not changed much in 2000 years. Jesus still has people parading as His messengers who call down fire from heaven [or water, or whatever that fits their theology]. These folks usually get their Scriptural source from the Old Testament [James and John did], and some contemporary current event [that fits their pet Old Testament prophetic warnings] to build their case for judgment day!

For all of the “well meaning” preachers [proclaimers] of “God is waiting for the right time to jump out of heaven and release a torrent of trouble to teach the troublemakers a lesson”, there are those who understand that there is absolutely going to be a day of reckoning coming, it just isn’t today!

Instead of partnering with the devil who is hellbent on creating chaos and controversy, why not co-labor with God and release the opposite spirit than the one that is manifesting destruction. In other words, release the Spirit of Jesus, who brings liberty, and words of life, not destruction!
